Featured Research
Crane Safety Research - Georgia Tech
Currently working with the Crane Safety Research Group at Georgia Tech on enhancing crane safety through video analysis and physical modeling. Our research focuses on analyzing crane tip-over accidents using MATLAB and Adobe After Effects to extract crucial dynamic parameters.
Key Contributions:
- Analyzed 42 crane accident videos, including the 2019 Seattle tower crane collapse
- Developing 3D-printed mobile crane models for physical validation
- Implementing video analysis methods using MATLAB and Adobe After Effects
- Working with IMU sensors for data validation
Research Impact
This research contributes to improving construction site safety by developing models to predict hazardous areas and refining safety standards. The methodology has potential applications in analyzing accidents involving other complex systems.
